EXPATRIATE TEACHERS
Expatriate teaches are employed on contract basis.
Expatriate teacher’s passport must be kept with you unless it taken to school for any administrative purpose.
In case of leaving, written evidence or a document should be forwarded to the Principal along with letter stating the reason for leaving.
School will keeps a record of the teachers who do not attend school on the first day of very term.
Principal in charge of staff affairs will go through the clearance from before granting leave.
Passport will only be returned after proving the clearance form signed by the respective person.
- LEAVE FACILTIES
All teachers are entitled to;
An annual holiday of 45 days starting from the end of the academic year until one week before the school reopens for the next academic year.
A mid-term holiday of 9 days and a term holiday of the same duration will be given. However, the leave is not cumulative and cannot be claimed during any part of the year. Teachers recruited on contract basis will not be granted permission to leave the country during the term holidays. Any teacher wanting a leave under a special circumstance during the school year should deposit MRF 5200 before leaving the country. The deposit will be deducted for every absent day.
Teachers going on leave at the end of the academic year should return back to one week before the school reopens.
Teacher will not be granted leave right away following the annual or term holidays.
School and government holidays will be given as holidays to all teachers unless there is a special program.
Teachers are expected to attend activities that are held on Saturdays.
Teachers are entitled to 60 days of maternity leave from the day of delivery (60 days are counted including the public holidays).
Maternity leave can be extended on provision of a medical certificate issued by a recognized doctor.
Teachers are entitled to a family emergency leave of 10 days with full pay.
Teachers are permitted a sick leave on deducting services allowance (counted including leave granted on call and leave granted on provision on a medical certificate issued by a recognized doctor) in any part of the year. The leave application along with medical certificate should be provided no later than 4 hours after the session begins on the day of reporting. The respective leading teacher/Principal should sign the leave form.
After applying for a leave, the teacher should remain on duty until the leave is granted.
If a teacher cannot attend to school due to an emergency, he/she should inform the school 10 minutes before the session begins. The teacher should submit the leave application along with the medical certificate when resuming duty. If the teacher fails to inform the school within the given time, he/she will be fined for not giving prior notice and for being absent for duty.
Without prior notification, if the teacher fails to report for duty the government may in its sole discretion dismiss the teacher from the job.
- ABSENT TO SCHOOL
Teacher should notify the leading teacher preferably the day before or at least 15 minutes before the session begins to the session in charge(Shifa) and head of school.
Make arrangements to hand over the lesson notes, key etc.
Give clear information to the leading teacher about the last lesson taught I your respective classes and what needs to be done next.
if a teacher is absent for two days, he/she needs to fill a form, which is kept at the reception and get it signed by the leading teacher on the first day he/she returns to school. And if the teacher is absent for more than two days he/she has to produce a medical certificate on the day he/she returns to school
Teacher could hold extra classes in the same week he/she comes to finish the missed lessons within the given time frame.
After signing, if a teacher goes home without working for the first three periods, he/she will be marked absent.
- ACCIDENTS
Accidents occurring at school or while coming to school should be reported to the principal.
Injuries taking place while carrying out school duties require early notification for claims.
In case of medical attention, all consultations should be with recognized doctors, preferably at IGMH. Only in an emergency should other doctors be approached.
- RESIGNATION
Resignations are not accepted in the middle of the academic year.
In the event of a compelled resignation, three months’ notice is required. In that case, the teacher will have to bear all the expenses connected to the cancellation of the visa and the return journey.
The teacher has to give three months’ notice to the school. Otherwise, salary for the three months will not be given.
Without giving three months’ notice, the teacher will also have to pay back the visa money to the school.
