Discipline
Discipline
Teachers are expected to give special attention to the behaviour of the students, in the class, inside the school and even outside the school.
Teachers should also train the students for good conduct and discipline and always display courtesy, punctuality, consideration, respect and good speech.
Lesson should be prepared to keep students occupied and busy. If students are engaged in meaningful activities there is little scope for misbehaviour. There are some students in every class with disruptive behaviour. Teachers must ensure that they do not have the opportunity to make mischief and take actions immediately against a student if the need arises
Teachers should deal with discipline first, before sending the child straight to other authorities.
Teachers are responsible for disciplining children.
All corrective measure taken by the teachers should be in accordance with the guidelines set out by the school.
Teachers should send students to the Leading Teacher only in the instance when the teacher is unable to deal with the problem him/herself.
Maldivian law does not allow teachers to inflict corporal punishment on students.
Teachers are NOT ALLOWED to touch the students even if they misbehave.
